The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told
April 27 – May 14, 2017
By Paul Rudnick
Inspired by the fundamentalist remark, “God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve,” The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told is another version of Biblical history. Act One recounts the major episodes of the Old Testament, only with a twist: Instead of Adam and Eve, our lead characters are Adam and Steve, and Jane and Mabel, a lesbian couple with whom they decide to start civilization (procreation proves to be a provocative challenge). As these two gay couples navigate the centuries together as friends, and encounter various different odd characters, we follow them through a crazed historical pageant that brings us down to a present-day NYC.
The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told ran at Out Front Theatre Company April 27 – May 14, 2017.
The cast was as follows: Ty Autry as Adam, Brian Jordan as Steve, Ellie Stryon as Jane, and Jenni McCarthy as Mabel. Completing the cast were Alex Burcar, Rachel Garbus, Davin Grindstaff, Jessica McGuire, and Nicole Smith.
Paul Conroy Directed the production and rounding out the production team were Brandon Muggy (Production Stage Manager,) Matthew Busch (Assistant Director,) Kait Rivas & Nicholas Suwalski (Assistant Stage Managers/Understudies,) Jay Reynolds (Costume Design), Charles Swift (Lighting Design), Jacob Demlow (Sound Design), Austin Kunis (Property & Set Design), and Edward Holifeild (Wig & Make-Up Design).
